Hello Xerte Team,
I have had a few questions regarding the use of page wizards, sent
directly to me, so I thought I would share the questions and answers
with the list.
Q. I have installed the page wizards but they are not listing in Xerte
A. You need to be using the latest version of Xerte - certainly versions
2.6 and earlier do not have page wizards implemented.
Q. I can only add page wizards to the project interface, but I want to
add them to a Decision or Framework icon.
A. Add the page wizard based page to the project Interface icon and then
drag it in the project tree to position it as a child of your Decision
or Framework.
Q. I tried using a page wizard and then when I opened the page's wizard,
Xerte minimised and won't maximise again.
A. When you create the page wizard based page you have to create a
folder, in to which Xerte will copy 3 files that the page wizard uses.
This process is supported by a dialogue box that facilitates the
creation of a new folder. The selection of the folder sets the pages
"templateData" property when Xerte creates the wizard based page. In the
event of the templateData property becoming corrupted (I have never had
this happen to me) then the page will appear in the project list, but
Xerte will minimise when you open the page's wizard. You can recover
Xerte by closing Xerte down and re-opening Xerte. To fix the wizard
based page that is causing the problem either delete it (and the folder
you created for it in your project folder) or edit the page's
templateData property to correct its value which should always point to
the location of the pages .xml file.
e.g. FileLocation + 'pages/test1/_categories.xml'
Kind regards
Johnathan
