Cheers got it working now it was just the bottom 2 filter fields I
stopped putting 2 filter in and its now working fine.
All our ad is the same so wouldn't need to $$$ them.
Many thanks

I'm not an ldap expert
So a few things appear
Do you need the ldap:// prefix?
The space after the $$$ on line 4
........
Sorry, you don't need to $$$ the filters, it assumes they are the same.
So, erm, to save face, do people need separate LDAP filters for
different hosts. I can see a logic they might as well be able to set it?

Does any other data needed to be entered as I have tried this and it
seems to break it and does not allow anyone to log on.
I imputed exactly this into the LDAP settings in the admin page, and the
same for all options:
ldap://gc-***.gc.grantham.ac.uk$$$ ldap://gc-***.gc.grantham.ac.uk
389$$$389
password$$$password
CN=adminuser,CN=Users,DC=gc,DC=grantham,DC=ac,DC=uk$$$
CN=adminuser,CN=Users,DC=gc,DC=grantham,DC=ac,DC=uk
OU=Users,OU=College,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC=
Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk$$$OU=Users,OU=Remote,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC=
Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk
sAMAccountName$$$ sAMAccountName
cn=$$$cn=
have removed some stuff for security J
still does not work L
unless I'm being stupid which is probably what I'm doing.

Hello,
Each value for each item in the ldap query needs to be separated by the
$$$ delimiter.
So, adding the values in their entirety
ldap_host_1$$$ldap_host_2
ldap_port_1$$$ldap_port_2
bind_pwd_1$$$bind_pwd_2
basedn_1$$$basedn_2
bind_dn_1$$$bind_dn_2
If you have two sites you need to provide 2 complete sets of data, even
if 1 and 2 are the same.
Just tried it here and it's working.
Thanks
Pat

Subject: [Xerte] Multiple LDAP Contexts
I have got xerte up and running on our moodle box and it is running no
problems. The only problem I have is the ldap settings.
The LDAP is working fine but I can only get it to work with one OU
container.
We have 1 main site container called users that has separate containers
beneath it and if I select this in the LDAP base all the users in the
container beneath can log onto xerte.
If I select just 1 container in LDAP base this also works just for the
users in the selected OU container.
Now my problem is we have 1 main site in AD called COLLEGE and 1 other
site on the AD called REMOTE
I need to add both of these to work in xerte to pull the users from both
different OU containers.
I have tried this on the LDAP settings from the admin page but I am used
to using the separator as ; but I have also tried this with $$$ as the
separator and neither work.
I have tried the following:
OU=Users,OU=College,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC=
Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk;OU=Users,OU=Remote,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC=
Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk
OU=Users,OU=College,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC=
Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk$$$OU=Users,OU=Remote,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC=
Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk
OU=Users,OU=College,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC= Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk
$$$ OU=Users,OU=Remote,OU=InterJigsaw,DC=gc,DC= Organisation,DC=ac,DC=uk
And I have also tried doing this in each section like the following:
HOST$$$HOST
PORT$$$PORT
PASSWORD$$PASSWORD
BASE$$$BASE
If I just have 1 it works fine but if I add another container it stops
working?????
Anyone have any info onto how to get this working.
Many thanks
