Can't you just store them in your own objects?

Subject: [Xerte] Keeping up with user preferences
Hello Xerte team,
Sorry to bother you.
I know that there is the STYLES object that will return the standard
styles for Xerte.
Is there a way of setting properties of an object e.g. a text object or
a panel, so that they pick up on user preferences that get changed when
the user, using the standard interface, makes a selection from Colour
scheme, Text font or Text Size.
I have tried using STYLES.aPropertyName to set a property, but once the
use selects a different setting my settings do not pick the change up.
Kind regards
Johnathan
