All the Xerte 3 code is in the repository . It is much easier to
customise - I am using FlashDevelop to build it. You'll find the runtime
engine code in the Xerte 3 folder - it needs compiling against the Flex
4 SDK which is still in beta - Beta 2 has just been released and there
are nightly builds from Adobe, but I am finding issues with the later
versions of the SDK - things work out mostly OK with Beta 1. Adobe
suggest Flex 4 will be complete in early 2010.
http://code.google.com/p/xerte/ is the repository,
http://code.google.com/feeds/p/xerte/updates/basic is a feed with
comments every time I check in the files which you might like to
subscribe to.
Creating a customised interface is mucuh easier in Xerte 3 - you can
look at creating your own with all the controls available to you, or you
can look at the Interface.as. There is more work needed on Interface.as
to better handle the accessibility features found in the existing
default interface. The ApplicationControlBar is very useful.
This version http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/xerte/downloads/xerte3alpha.exe
mostly works as far as it goes - certainly good enough to have a good
play around,
J

Good morning Patrick
Find attached the changes i made to the XMLEngine.fla file. Most of the
AS changes were commenting out relevant lines of code. My aim was to
keep the integrity of the original build. Are you using a similar
structure for Xerte 3 with AS3? Would it be possible to have a look at
the AS3 files?
