Good, glad you like it. I'll update the bul din a minute and update the
files for download on the server.

 

You won't need to change your server - but remember that the request for
the images desribed by the LaTeX will be handled (eventualy) by our
servers, so there may be situations where it will fail (because the
content is behind some sort of firewall that prevents requests to
outside servers). We've yet to do the work to replicate the service we
are currently using (one that a lot of blogs use, and the best of the
three I tested). For those reasons I haven't shouted about it too much
just yet, and there will be some caveats on use - allowing access to the
3rd party resource.

Thanks for the welcome.

Wow, the LaTeX support is a fantastic feature.   However, the build that
I downloaded does not seem to support it.   I copied the below example
"as is".

You mention that you intend to support this on "your server".   Do /
will I need to set up my server for such, or do anything special like
that?

When you upload this latest build, will I need to re-download and
re-install or will Xerte just update itself?

Either way, I'm looking forward to working with this.

Xerte currently has some embryonic support for LaTeX. You can inlcude it
in a text icon using the following example:

 

<tex src="e=mc^2"> //i.e. put the latex string in the src attribute. You
can see some examples here:

I can't remember if the build on the website has this feature in it yet
- it's quite new. If the example above doesn't work, let me know and
I'll upload the latest build for you. We intend to support this from our
own servers over the next few weeks,as we don't want to rely on an
outside service in the long term,

Greetings All,



I only just heard of Xerte today.   Downloaded and installed because it
looks promising.
However, before I get too involved, I must know, how do the math folks
deal with the symbols?   Without this, I MUST use other tools.
I can tell that that is not a ready feature of Xerte.   Is something in
the works?   Is there an add-on of sorts that can be used?
