Xerte. I haven’t added it to the toolkits yet. You guys need to test it.

If you download the latest esrion of Xerte from the web site, you’ll find an updated Page Templates wizard in there with an additional field for the Quiz.
Set it to ‘all’ or a number and have the quiz pick questions x from y at random. Please test it and let me know any feedback.

It would be great if it were possible to get the random selection working in time for the next release of Online TK!

Could probably quite easily update the quiz page to have a ‘Number of Questions’ field, and that would then limit the quiz to showing just that number, at random. Options would be ‘All’ or a number. The randomness is already done – right now it is set to use all the questions, so would just need to change a couple of variables, I think.

Hi Julian and Patrick,
I hope you’re both well. The current Academic year is getting underway in East Anglia and I’ve got two Adult and Community Learning Providers who are keen to get going with Xerte. They asked me whether there was a way of making a random selection of questions from a pool, e.g. to select six questions out of a popssible 30 for example. This would enable it’s use in a group context because it would prevent all the students getting the same questions.
I couldn’t think of an existing template that would do this, and I wondered if this was something that could go on the wishlist if there is sufficient demand from other quarters as well.
Kindest Regards,
Thomas
