Is there an official terminology I can stick to?

I have tended to refer to raw Xerte, Xerte Templates and Xerte Toolkits.

Xerte Xerte has a ring to it though

Xerte, Xerte, give me your answer do :-)

This is Xerte Xerte, not Toolkits Xerte.

Is there any more information available on how to interact with shapes
in a drawing?

Many of the drawing functions appear, unless I have misunderstood this,
to be aimed at making the drawing tools available to the end user.

What I want to do is to be able to reference individual shapes within a
drawing, so that I can modify them (change size, rotate, alter alpha
etc) or add new shapes using script.

I would like to be able to identify specific shapes so that if a user
rolls over them or clicks on them I can capture the event to be used in
scripts.

Is this kind of thing possible and if so how.

A few pointers in the right direction would be very useful.

Kind regards

Johnathan.
