[Xerte] webtools installationThanks. I might try xampp, but if my choices are to run locally or buy a new hosting service, I am going to have to rethink this whole idea.

  If you just want to evaluate it, then set it up on a localhost with xampp - that is very easy. Pat can advise on setting it up on your hosting service, but at the end of the day if they don't allow you to make settings it needs, you might need to talk to their admin. Otherwise Palepurple offer hosting services for Xerte Online Toolkits, and know a good deal about it. 

  Alternatively, you can run it locally using the PageTemplates template and upload your projects as you would normally do, but you miss out on a heap of functionality provided by the web side of things,

  Hi,

  I'm brand new to Xerte, and am having trouble installing Web Tools. I have a
  hosting account at BlueHost, and I get a page full of php errors when I try
  to follow the installation instructions. One hint may be that BlueHost seems
  pretty aggressive about re-setting folder permissions. It really doesn't
  like 0777! When I tried to view phpinfo.php I saw a message saying that
  dangerous write permissions had been fixed!

  Is there a not too overwhelming manual installation procedure I might try?
