Probably just the way they've been embedded. It looks like they've exported
the LO's so they aren't linked/embedded from a xerte install. Full list
here: http://www.open.ac.uk/libraryservices/beingdigital/activities all or
most of the ones with a pdf attached appear to be xerte.

Hi Inge
just replying here because I was reminded of the OU branding earlier today
and thought about your question about a totally white theme.
When does a Xerte LO not look like a Xerte LO?

What totally white so they can't see it! Hidden LO's - discovery learning..?
;-)
Actually I think what we need is an optional property on the learning object
like we have for the bootstrap template to add styles directly in the LO
which then apply throughout. At the moment doing this on a page give
flexibility to only affect that page and uploading a custom stylesheet is
overkills when a small change is required. Likewise the optional property
could allow additional javascript to be written for the whole LO rather than
individual pages.
So as an example the Flat Blue theme is easily changed to what you decsibe
Inge with a tiny bit of css - see page 7
http://mitchellmedia.co.uk/xot/play_168#resume=7
You can also change the shape e.g. http://mitchellmedia.co.uk/xot/play_168?
<http://mitchellmedia.co.uk/xot/play_168?&display=600,800#resume=7>
&display=600,800#resume=7
Will add this to Trello for further discussion.

Was wondering of we can create a totally white theme for users that want to
embed it in their learning environment without borders. What do you think?

Fine by me - it was only a comment about the academic reference can see pros
and cons as has been discussed.
Just added a note about the theme developments in Trello including a link to
a test and example which includes a test of an svg version of one of the

I agree with Inge, I prefer the 3rd one... less fussy and apereo might
be academic focussed but xerte has a mix of adopters...

Hi,
For me and Katrien me I think it will be a barrier because our target
groups are very different from academic. My preference is that we
choose the last two. I also like the last two visually more that the
first one. If I have to choose one then my preference is the third one
because it's more 'calmer'.
Don't know if that's the right word :)

It might be their tag but I quite like the re-enforcement of a focus
on academia. A lot of our users won't no the name Apereo.
I've played about with some variations in Inkscape. Will reply again

I think the 'serving the academic mission is too much as well - and
it's Apereo's tag, not ours.
Here's another version, just plain text:

I like bothbut I think the 'Serving the academic mission' looks a bit
cramped in the second version. What does that look like written under
both
versions?
e.g.
Version one reads
Xerte
an apereo community project
Serving the academic mission
and version 2 reads
Apereo
Xerte
Serving the academic mission

This is an alternative approach: it's a bit easier to cope with
because we can use a font for the apereo text (Myriad), rather than
work off the graphics files Ian sent through.

Thoughts?
We really need to develop a number of icons / logos for different
sizes, and I don't see why we shouldn't be able to use both approaches
really...
