Ok, in case answer is no...

Open the site in Chrome
Right click anywhere and select Inspect Element
Click on the Source tab and press whatever it tells you to open a file (on mac its Cmd + P)
Find template_management.js (make sure its the right one, theres two and the one in languages is the wrong one)
Scroll down to line 656 and click on it - you should get an arrow or dot, that's a breakpoint
Now refresh the page - It will stop processing at that line
Go to the console and just type response
It should display the contents of response

Copy it to myself and Tom and we'll take a look

This is a bit worrying if we're going to announce tomorrow.
On the same server a clean new install works fine but an upgrade of two different servers results in this issue of no projects showing in the workspace and stopping at the error:
template_management.js, line 656 character 9
workspace = JSON.parse(response);
I'm not sure how to access the value of the response.

Hi Tom
sorry how do I get to the value of the response?

Yes, it means there (still) is an invalid character somewhere.

In the browser, set a breakpoint on that line, copy the value of response, and paste it in one of the many online JSON syntax verification tools, and tell me what it says.

Hi all
I just tested upgrading a copy of a 2.1 installation and I'm seeing the new workspace etc but no projects showing in the workspace.
The console error shows the following:

template_management.js, line 656 character 9
workspace = JSON.parse(response);

but I'm not sure if that's the cause or just a consequence - any ideas?
Cheers
Ron
