Hi John
yeah thanks I know we've all had problems with this at times - just not
clear whether or not when it's happening whether it's happenning to us all
at the same time? Or what the vaiables are?
I know Julian has asked about it many times too and I guess as it mostly
seems a problem with the dev list we just live with it. Not a major problem
when the discussion doesn't require quick or threaded responses but as you
say frustrating when they aren't in sync.
Cheers
Ron

Hi Ron,
It's not just you, I've been seeing this on and off (and have reported it to
Julian) for months now. I often see Julian's response to someone having an
issue BEFORE I actually receive the email about the issue, sometimes half an
hour or up to an hour before.
Always thought it was our spam filters but perhaps it is the server. What
are the numbers like on these lists? Are they significantly different?

Ok sent my previous message to this list below at 12:30 and received my copy
from the list at 13:11 so a delay of over 30mins.
Sent a test message to the xerte list at 13:05 and received my copy from
that list at 13:11.
Seems like for me at least the main problem/delay is with this dev list.

If it's only happening for me or only intermittant then it's obviously not
important enough to even consider moving elsewhere. Just a bit frustrating
not knowing exactly why it's happening and whether just me or different for
others. I know other have reported delays previously but not sure how
variable this is and why.

Thanks for posting that: you'll see (or have seen?) I posted it to Xerte as
well.
I've raised the list issues with systems so many times it's not really worth
trying to push it anymore, so we either live with it, or give up with it and
move elsewhere? I can give it one more go if you like, but it's not really
satisfactory. Do you have the same issue with the vanilla Xerte list?

Have sent to the teachers list and partly because I wanted to test how soon
the message appeared.
I know we've had list delays before but how come my messages to this list
take ages to come through when on teachers list any message appears in
seconds? I know they are both hosted differently and different list
technology too but is there anything I can do at my end to avoid the delay
getting through to this list?

I can reproduce using Chrome too.
Should we post a message to the other lists warning of this e.g. prevention
better than cure especially as it's not a Xerte only issue?
Happy to send a user friendly note to the teachers list or does anything
think that's not a good idea?
Cheers

Ah. no scrap that. it's definitely scrolling related. Because I have a huge
screen and the browser windows have never had to scroll then I never saw for
20 mins. reduced the window size, scrolled the window and 30 seconds later
it is there.

Julian,
Users at Toll-net Belgium observe the same issue since a few days. This is
on an 2.1 installation of a few months back (see attached)
This suggests that something changed in Chrome?
