We would perhaps want to limit image entry anyway but you can still do it in Github Markdown via ![alt](url)

I was just thinking that, if we used github as a repository for the documentation (not the wiki), this would be great for managing version control and contributions, but there's no simple format (apart from Markdown - see gov.uk: http://digital.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/2012/11/06/shipping-the-digital-strategy/ which would allow non-developers to use it.
It's not ideal in terms of adding images and media either...

Hi John,
The angular.js docs are created as an ngdoc format which gets parsed by the Angular.js code on their website… so this might not be a good idea for non-coder.

Not so sure I agree there…
Sites like Angular.js have their whole site almost in Github and the Github pages are pulled back to their server regularly. Each page has an “Edit this page” button that takes you to Github, you change a page and sent a Pull request…
I think it’s definitely worth considering as it gets non-coders through the door who might then dip their toe in editing other files or fixing typos…

That would be very welcome.
The GitHub wiki is probably more for the project developers. I think we can easily add a wiki to the community site, Tom?

We really need a central documentation area. We could manage this through Git, if we could agree a format for the documentation, or start to build out a new searchable documentation site (eg. docs.xerte.org.uk)
Either way, I'm happy to take a lead on organising things, if needed.

Thanks Julian,
That's the best approach I think.
Is the xerte.net<http://xerte.net> wiki the best place to add this?

If I were doing that here I would rename the stylesheet to, say, customThemeStyles.css, create the new graphics and reference them in the file and then leave a note in your INSTALLTION_SPECIFIC_README.txt to change the reference in rloObject.htm to the custom style sheet. We keep track of installation specific things in such a file in the root of the install.
New files then won’t over-write your changes, but you will need to change the refs. There are no doubt other approaches. I wouldn’t copy the template though because that copy won’t benefit from any other improvements later.
I’m sure it would be easy enough to get rloObject.htm to look for a custom style sheet and if it exists use that else use the default one. Then everything just works.

OK. Thanks.
Do I need to create a completely new template, copied from Nottingham, in order to avoid any upgrades over-writing the changes?

Subject: [Xerte-dev] Changing player icons (HTML5)
Hi there,
Can someone remind me how to change the player icons for the HTML5 template?
I know how to tweak the CSS for a specific learning object, but ideally I'd like a consistent, centrally driven css + icons set that will be used for all learning objects.
Thanks,
Mark
