This can be done, it's type is pageList.

Hi,
So i'm wondering the best way to approach this... Paul Catherall @ liverpool would like to be able to link the thumbnail viewer thumbs to specific pages (which seems like an obvious feature enhancement)...
Now he seems confident at using the asfunction:_level0.engine.rootIcon.pageLink to do this, however the "Specified URL" option doesn't allow that... but I can change the model easily to support this but is that then making this feature less accessible to those not confident at using the asfunction call... so I can see 3 (or more) possible other ways...
We just change the mode and allow asfunction in the "Specified URL" box - easiest but seems least intuitive...
We add a "Page Link" to the dropdown and then somehow add a context menu to the URL box (or a page number box) to bring up the same list of pages that the other context menu brings up - still quite easy but seems possibly a bit non-intuitive to the end user...
We add an Optional Property called Page Link (or whatever) and it is a dropdown populated with all the pages (not even sure if this can be currently done)..
Some other way yet to be suggested??
Before I start making any model code changes and having code in the wild which might end up needing changed I thought i'd throw this open to you all for comment...

Hi John
I think it's the thumnail viewer page rather than perspectives page.
Can't tell for sure as I don't think Paul's install is public. Can't reach the link below.

Ah can't remember exactly when John added that functionality but once it's in place you should see the following:
[cid:image001.jpg at 01CE7F29.21D44830]
Then
[cid:image002.jpg at 01CE7F29.21D44830]
But what should work in the version you have even without the resume functionaility is appending &page=3 and &page=4 etc to the public LO url.
So try http:// yourlolink&page=3 does that work? If so you could adjust that for each thumb url

That might not work in the thumnail viewer because I think the url field there is just looking for a http address.
However on the learning object properties enable the optional resume property. Then each page will have #1 #2 etc to deep link to those pages.
You could then add a relevant link to each thumbnail. It will reload the LO each time but perhaps that doesn't matter?

So if I end up with a URL like
asfunction:_level0.engine.rootIcon.pageLink,PG1373635031616
generated by clicking "page link" this works when using something like
<a
href="asfunction:_level0.engine.rootIcon.pageLink,PG1373635031616">test</a>
...in a text arra...
however if I add
asfunction:_level0.engine.rootIcon.pageLink,PG1373635031616
..to the URL field in "thumbnail viewer" template I get
[cid:image003.jpg at 01CE7F29.21D44830]
I'm assuming I need the full argument/path before the function?
thanks

What version are you using?
Right click in a text area and select Page Link you'll see a more reliable option for linking between pages.

Hi
quick question, hopefully not duplicating an existing discussion.
Does anyone know if the path has changed in Xenith for linking internally, e.g.
<a href="asfunction:_level0.pageLink,2">ok</a>
this results in a the following for me:
