I don't know the exact syntaxes excepted by both solutions but:

- <tex src=""> uses the mathtex.cgi webservice on the community 
webserver (and a full latex installation)
- \(\)  uses MathJax, and in this case with \(\) the LaTeX syntax. But I 
don't know where \indent nad \bye is coming from


So we have all the possible solutions again online.
