Hi John,

Thanks a million for trying to solve this (video in xot)

So ...

1. I can't find any gzip or deflate in the server. mod_deflate and 
mod_gzip are NOT installed for apache, so the content is not compressed.
2. I fixed the mime-type (you REALLY have to clear your local cache.. :-) )

As far as I can tell, the correct sizes are displayed for the movies, 
and they are marked as video/mp4 now.  However, it still doesn't work....

Not in Chrome. I didn't test IE before the mime-type change, but after 
the change at least,  it seems to work a lot better in IE10 on WS7 64bit.

Also, it looks like media-elements is falling back to flash in Chrome, 
because flash player plug-in seems to cause the lock-up.
