I think I know what is happening (not sure why though). It has something 
to do with the way the language session variable is set.

It you set it explicitly (as I do  in my setup) everything seems to work 
fine. If the language is set by the default mechanism (by looking at the 
locale of the browser) things are almost corrct but not quite. As the 
moodle setup doesn't allow explicitly selecting a language the techdis 
test server suffers from this.

I''l track down the issue and provide a proper fix (hopefully this week, 
as this weekend I have no time, we'll be visiting London ;-) )
