cheers for the clarification. 
I guess I should have/might have spotted that eventually but obviously the
previous changes/additions you made to enable moving/renaming the folders
were crucial to the solution too. Great that it works now. 

Also fantastic that this process retains the same play_ID and access
settings so that wherever the LO is previously linked or embedded it still
works but is simply owned by the new owner.

I guess a future wish list item (version 2.8 ;-)) and going back to
something I think Julian mentioned might be to have a bulk change option via
the management area e.g. if someone leaves change ownership of all their
LO's to their replacement or someone else rather than one at a time.

that was the only change really code wise

in folder details the column is folder id, in templaterights it is folder
