Actually there's possibly another bug too....
I changed and committed \setup\basic.sql line 69 so that multiple
perspectives and media interactions are set to inactive however I was then
going to change \languages\en-GB\setup\basic.sql in a similar way and
noticed that line 57 of this file doesn't insert multiple perspectives or
media interactions at all. This raises to questions...
1. should the two files be identical
2. When doing a new install should it be using
\languages\en-GB\setup\basic.sql rather than \setup\basic.sql at the moment
it seems to be using the latter

log it as a bug

Yes it's a quick change to change \languages\en-GB\setup\basic.sql so that
the two templates are inactive. I'll do that shortly.
What's not so quick and I'm not really sure where to look/fix is that
visiting managemnt.php and then central templates and trying to change
active to inactive doesn't work e.g. for existing installs to hide the
templates. Changing the value of who can access from * does work as does
changing active to 0 direct in the database.

Leave the folders, because then existing content (although I don't think
there is very much) will still work.
I noted yesterday to make sure only the Toolkits and RSS feeds should be in
the new build.
Can you attend to this please?
Fay has been through all the templates and made a list of issues: I'm going
to work on as much as I can next week when I have some time: there are some
that won't be easy for me to fix, so it would be good to have some help on
the php stuff: I think the publish thing is the main one.
That giving templates issue Adam just mentioned would be good to fix as
well.
The other area where there is quite a bit to do, is to put all those button
label properties etc into the language or advanced or whatever it is
checkbox. I'm surprised this wasn't done, I thought that's why I made those
modifications to the engine? Am I missing something here?
This was my list of stuff that isn't related to templates:
Management.php
==============
Giving templates
Setup
=====
Documentation up to date?
Demo txt error on setup
Media Interactions and Multiple Perspectives still part of Xampp install -
should be just the toolkit and rss feed (think this is just xampp)
Warn xampp users about losing work? Or migrate existing projects?
General
=======
Publish button and process doesn't seem quite right
Workspace
=========
Folder / nested content indented too far in the workspace, looks odd?
Deleting folder: prompt contains <IMG tag
Should we allow the user to force a folder delete when full of LOs?
Properties Panel
================
Export gives scrambled text .rlt file if not published. Can't we prevent
export unless the file is published, or prompt the user to publish?
Exporting before publishing gives an LO with a scrambled title
Where do export files come from - are they updated with latest svn files?
Properties -> RSS feeds wrapping badly for the check boxes
Export JMOL folder?
Publish button in Publish panels.
Wizard
======
Click maximise window size in editor: can't minimise, seems to fire up
publish process?
Maximise window prompts 'publish?'
Wizard: should optional properties be A-Z

I've just tested a fresh install using the latest svn code and multiple
perspectives and media interactions are still active and shown on a new
install - I'm guessing that \languages\en-GB\setup\basic.sql got replaced at
some point without the change you made?
Also \modules\xerte\parent_templates still contains all of the following:
biochemistry
Draw
GEN
Hotspots
mediaInteractions
multipersp
Nottingham
Numcalc
Pbl
Presentation
Should some of these be removed?

I've done it for new installs. Old installs can keep them if they want.

Set active to 0 in originaltemplatedetails for those two templates.
I guess this can be changed in the .sql scripts for new installs and admin's
of existing installs can change to inactive via the management page.

How to remove the two templates from the site? We don't need them anymore,
though will leave the files in to support old projects, and over the top
upgrades will still show them in the panel (I guess they are in the database
somewhere?).
Multiple perspectives is now a page in the main template, and media
Interactions has all its functionality available in the main template too.
