"I take it the modelAnswer page replaces the original modelAnswer page."
yes
"If this is the case is it backward compatible with the original modelAnswer
page?"
yes should be
there are two extra options in the xwd for changing button label and for
changing a feedback string but these won't break previous pages as they are
optional properties anyway.
btw you've mentioned button labels - the modle answer page now includes a
rough calculation which changes the button width based on the string entered
- I guess you're doing that to enable for different lengths with different
languages too?

Subject: [Xerte-dev] Re: updated and new model answer files
Hello Everyone,
"I had a look at the current language directory and that only seemed to
include interface items."
As far as the individual page templates go the development work is taking
place in the "pageWizards" folder of the xerte svn with the .rlm files in
the "models" folder and the wizard files in the "en" folder.
Tom has created the files that enable these models to be consumed by Xerte,
which I have obtained from his emails to the list. I can't recall where he
has uploaded them to the svn.
I will take a look at the modelAnswerResult page, and the updated
modelAnswer page, in the course of my updating work which will include
exposing all language strings included in the model file e.g. button labels
and tooltips, expressions such as "Question 1 of 8" in the page's xwd form.
This is done in such a way as to ensure the new models will be backward
compatible with existing XOT projects.
I take it the modelAnswer page replaces the original modelAnswer page. If
this is the case is it backward compatible with the original modelAnswer
page?
Kind regards
Johnathan

Hi all
you may have noticed the updated model answer and new model answer results
rlm's have now been committed.
Here's an example of how they work

Have only added to the xerte svn so far not XOT svn but could add to XOT if
it would help?
There are some hard coded strings in a couple of places e.g. strings which
display within the content rather than the interface like:
The instruction and question on page 1 was:
Your response was:
The example answer was:
and so on...
Not sure if the language work is including this kind of thing or just the
interface? I had a look at the current language directory and that only
seemed to include interface items. I guess most of the time text which
displayed within content comes from editable fields in the wizard but is
there somewhere else these kinds of strings should be set?
Cheers
Ron
