From w.v.steenis at casema.nl Fri Oct 10 09:11:27 2025 From: w.v.steenis at casema.nl (w.v.steenis at casema.nl) Date: Fri, 10 Oct 2025 10:11:27 +0200 Subject: [Syrphidae] participating in Biodivera+call, looking for labs rearing syrphidae Message-ID: <076101dc39bd$7add06e0$709714a0$@casema.nl> Dear all, I'm asked to help in a biodiversa+ proposal of prof. P.A. Jansen and Dr. E. Jongejans (both from the Netherlands). We aim to investigate the role of several factors (nitrogen, pesticides, climate factors, EMR) in the decline of hoverflies in Europe. We are now looking for partners who could en would like to join the proposal. The due date for a preproposal is first week of November, so time is very limited. The project will include both lab work and fieldwork. The most urgent part we are looking for is people who could establish (or already have established) rearings of hoverflies for the lab experiments (preferably species of all major larval feeding strategies and both common and rare / declining species). We are also looking into institutions who could join the proposal and organize fieldwork in their country and other participating countries. More information on the Biodivera+ call is available at https://www.biodiversa.eu/2025/09/09/2025-2026-joint-call/. Here you could check whether your country is a participating country and whether you fit the national / regional eligibility criteria. Please let us know if you are interested to be involved in the proposal and on what funding. If you have any suggestions on people to contact, that would be very helpful as well.
