Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Ethical Data Initiative, Association of African
Universities and the University of Nottingham, I would like to invite you
to participate in the next session of the Data Ethics Discussion Series,
titled *“Ethical Challenges of Data and Research in Agriculture.”*

The webinar session is scheduled for *tomorrow (20th March) from 11:00 AM
to 12:30 PM (UTC).*

This session will delve into the growing ethical concerns surrounding data
usage and research in the agricultural sector. Key topics will include
issues of informed consent, data confidentiality, transparency, and
equitable access to technology, particularly for smallholder farmers.

The discussion will also explore:

   - The critical role of accurate data in shaping effective agricultural
   policies,
   - The interconnection between agriculture and environmental
   sustainability, and
   - The importance of collaborative engagement among researchers,
   policymakers, and local communities.

Expert panellists will share insights on how to promote trust, uphold
individual rights, and ensure that the interests of all stakeholders are
addressed in agricultural data practices.
