UKRI are welcoming stakeholder feedback on a draft version of the UKRI
research data policy. This draft includes proposed common principles and
requirements for research data and metadata.


*Responsible Data Sharing is part of the draft policy*. This is excellent
news for EDI’s work and mission.

EDI will also be responding to this consultation highlighting the need to
educate the next generation of data and research professionals about their
legal and ethical obligations when it comes to using, reusing, and sharing
data. *Research Funders need to provide funding to universities for data
ethics training as part of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in all
research projects.*


EDI will be expanding our* Campaign for Data Ethics in Education*. With
over 450 universities already supporting our campaign through the
Association of African Universities, this is creating huge momentum for
EDI's work and impact globally.  The Campaign advocates for the integration
of data ethics in all higher education courses focused on data science and
