article for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Education, attached.
Please note:
1) The definitions of structured and balanced literacy I cite early on
differ markedly from yours.
2) I rebut Bowers' (2020) main argument.
3) I am in the midst of writing a fuller rebuttal of that, and of Wyse &
Bradbury (2022).
4) I think my main analysis provides strong support for your position.
