 The International Literacy Association (ILA), a professional association of literacy researchers, teachers, teacher educators, coaches, and administrators, has opened a search for new editors for two of its flagship journals: The Reading Teacher and the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2020. Full text downloads from this journal average over 1.2 million a year.  The Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy is the leading peer-reviewed publication for teachers of children aged 12 and up. It is averaging around a half million full-text downloads per year. We are seeking visionary scholars—forward thinkers who, in addition to demonstrating a commitment to translating sound research to practice, will drive passionate engagement through social media and continue to grow the reach of these publication.  Applicants have the option of applying for a four-year term of editorship as teams of two to five people. ILA bolsters the work of its journal editors by:   
   - Providing annual financial support of $25K to the editors’ institution to cover certain journal related expenses, including the retention of freelance administrative assistance
   - Deploying a full-time staff member to handle traffic control of all manuscript submissions from reviewer assignment to adjudication
   - Coordinating journal marketing and promotional campaigns, including news releases, with the communications office at the editors’ institution
