Dear RHF Colleagues:

I have been asked to enumerate the responsibilities of the Reading Hall of Fame President. The responsibilities are as follows:

· Supervise election of President Elect

· Review and appoint other executive committee officers, e.g., secretary, treasurer, historian.

· Review and appoint committee chairs and members

· Plan the annual RHF Breakfast

· Plan and conduct the annual RHF Business Meeting

· Contact elected members of the RHF

· Invite presenters of new inductees for the RHF Breakfast

· Plan the RHF Inaugural address session at LRA meeting

· Conduct RHF Executive Meetings on a quarterly basis

· Communicate with members issues of importance to the organization’s well being and expanding influence

· Coordinate all aspects of the RHF annual meeting with the President of the Literacy Research Association

· Call for presenters at the Annual ILA Reading Hall of Fame Session

· Other duties as specified in the bylaws of the RHF

This requires about 2 hours per week of dedicated time leading up to the annual meetings. In the months prior it may take as much as 4 hours per week to get all of the meetings planned, programs made and to coordinate business affairs of the organization with the RHF secretary, treasurer, and historian. Please consider this information as you nominate persons for RHF President Elect.

Warm regards,

Ray

Dear Reading Hall of Fame Colleagues:

As per our voting regulations, it is time to begin the process of soliciting nominations for a President-Elect of the Reading Hall of Fame. The individual serves as President-Elect for one year prior to assuming the President’s office for a two year term of service (total of three years.) The individual elected will assume the office of President of the Reading Hall of Fame at the conclusion of the 2019 Reading Hall of Fame Meeting at the Literacy Research Association. If you would please send your nominations, including self nominations, to me by August 1, 2018 at the following email address, it would be very much appreciated:

Once a slate of candidates is decided upon by the RHF Executive Committee, we will put this election ballot out to a vote of the membership. Thank you for your nominations.

Sincerely,

Ray
