Kia ora tatou

I am so sorry to hear this tragic news. Bill was respected in the New
Zealand literacy community and had made many friends during his time here a
few years ago.

Kua hinga te totara i te wao nui Tane - The totara has fallen in the forest
of Tane.

This Maori whakatauki (proverb) is reserved to acknowledge the passing of a
special person, as the totara tree (a NZ native) is huge, and strong and
precious.

We salute Bill.

regards in sorrow
Heather Bell
