[Reading-hall-of-fame] Re: Reading Hall of Fame Update

Hello Rita and colleagues

I won't be able to attend these breakfasts for the foreseeable future, as
retirement takes its natural course and my consultancy accounts dry up; so,
formally at least, I don't have a view on the issue of the location of the
RHoF gatherings.

Having said that, I'd add that an important prior question might relate to
the perceived function of 'The Hall' - I see one of its primary roles as
reinforcing the connection between classroom practitioners and reading
researchers - a visible bridge between these groups. In that light, and
independently of any of the administrative aspects of moving versus
staying, I'd be predisposed to stay with ILA, even if that means some stern
negotiations with its executive.

I wish you all well.

Best regards,

Peter
