That’s a good guess, or maybe a past treasurer? Problem is I am not really certain what the Articles look like and the banker I spoke to didn’t either. I have a copy of a one page document signed by Alida Cutts that says RHA is registered in Delaware. It’s not called “articles of incorporation,” the bank seem to have accepted it. I say “seem” because altho the banker called me to say we were going to be able to put the account in my name, I haven’t heard from her since. I will try calling her again tomorrow. Patty

Subject: [Reading-hall-of-fame] Re: History
A search through documents at ILA has not revealed Alan’s history piece yet. Still looking….
I’m not surprised the letters of incorporation have not been found at ILA HQ. There has always been an attempt to keep the ‘business’ part of RHF separate from IRA/ILA. Most likely that important document resided with some officer and was to be handed along. I am just wondering if any of you who are past (way past) presidents have a file folder tucked away somewhere…

Folks
As some of you are aware the RHF www site was down for a couple of days during the first few days of the month. The problem is fixed now. Hence, over the holidays as you need an excuse to get away from the grandkids or cousin Bob who wants to provide you with an in-depth description of his most recent medical procedure, all you have to do is inform all who are present in the room that you need to update your RHF page and then retreat to your home office. Then you can find peace and quiet as you actually update your page or send me your materials and I will be happy to do so for you.
On a related matter, the good Dr. Alvermann found a history of the RHF written by Ira Aaron. She shared it with me, and it is now uploaded. Unfortuately the document does not contain a date (perhaps from the first years of this century). More interesting with regard to the history of the RHF is that he references a history written by H. Alan Robinson (1999) entitled "The Reading Hall of Fame: A Summary of Its First Decade: 1973-May, 5, 1983. This begs the question...does anyone of you have a copy of this work by Robinson? I would like to obtain a copy for our archive (that seems to be lost to the times).
Again let me ask...if you want to clean out your files (not a bad idea as a New Year's resolution), please send anything related to the RHF to me. We do need to get a paper archives started (yes, we love paper).
In the meantime...do have a wonderful holiday season.
Thanks
Norm
