[Reading-hall-of-fame] Volunteers Needed for Reading Hall of Fame Leadership Positions

Dear Reading Hall of Fame Members:



Over the past several years, members of the Reading Hall of Fame Executive Committee have reached out to members, asking them to take on a leadership role for the organization.  It has been difficult to get members to accept these responsibilities.  We understand the dilemma--many are retired and have moved onto other responsibilities and activities.  At the same time, the Reading Hall of Fame can function only if we have members who are willing to accept these leadership positions and serve the organization.  This is especially important at this time, when we are contemplating a potential move for RHF from ILA to LRA.  Obviously,  to successfully make this change,  we will need RHF members to help us develop an action plan for exploring and making this move.


 At the present time, we need members to assume responsibilities for two significant RHF leadership positions.  We are looking for volunteer members who might be willing to take on the following roles.


Treasurer (Tim Rasinski has done a great job but is resigning as of 7/2017).  This is a four year commitment.  The RHF Treasurer collects dues (now only for the new inductees since we moved to a one-time only dues payment); keeps our financial records; collects monies for the annual RHF breakfast meeting (which might also change, given the possible move). The Treasurer also files the necessary IRS documentation annually on behalf of the RHF.



Newsletter Editor (two year position).  We provide funds for a graduate student to assist in the development of a newsletter. (David Reinking and his team provided membership with two outstanding newsletters).



We can provide more details for anyone who is interested.  We aren't quite sure how the RHF will function if we do not have members who are willing to step up and fill these vital positions. (Ray and I have made targeted invitations to members to serve and no one has agreed to assume these responsibilities).  We need your help.
