I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Ira Aaron. As a native Georgian, I can attest that he had an indelible impact on literacy learning in the State of Georgia and on the field. While in college at Albany State College (now Albany State University, Albany, GA), my professors often referred to Dr. Aaron's research and instructional strategies in preparing us to become good teachers of reading.

I agree as well.

We lost another Reading Hall of Fame member today. I just learned 10 minutes ago that Ira Aaron passed away today. My dean's office let me know. Will try to get the obituary posted when it is ready. Meanwhile, Ira's passing is such a loss. He was a true leader and a southern gent all the way.

Hi Victoria,
I support Ron Carver’s posthumous induction on the Reading Hall of Fame. If my memory serves me correctly, his work on ‘Auding’ was highly regarded at the time.
