Dear Reading Hall of Fame Members:

During the past few years, a few members have asked the RHF to consider moving its annual breakfast and presentation session (of recently inducted members) from the summer meeting of International Literacy Association (ILA) to the winter meeting of the Literacy Research Association (LRA). Several reasons have prompted this suggestion (e.g., more RHF members attend LRA than ILA, travel costs for international travels during the summer). In the last few weeks, this possibility was raised again on our listserv.

The Executive Board, in our autumn telephone call on Wed, October 12, 2016, discussed the possibility of this change. We decided to solicit information from members about such a move. We are asking, therefore, that you respond to a survey at the following link:

Please respond by Saturday, October 29, 2016. Also, if you wish, put your name in the comment box at the end of the survey.

The Executive Board plans to send a summary of responses to members. At that time, depending on responses to this survey, we

may ask members to vote electronically, or decide that more conversation is needed, either on our listserv or at our July meeting in Orlando, July, 2017.

Some important points: The Reading Hall of Fame is an independent organization -not affiliated with ILA or with any other professional organization. Regardless of the feedback we receive, there are no plans to move the 2017 meeting from ILA to LRA. If we decide to move, we will need time to address the logistics of such a move. We look forward to hearing from you.

Rita M. Bean, President D. Ray Reutzel, President-Elect
