[Reading-hall-of-fame] ILA Events -- Boston, July 9-10, 2016

Greetings!   Just a friendly reminder -- Breakfast form due  by May 31 (see attached)!  Our treasurer, Tim Rasinski, would like to know if you are planning to attend the RHF Induction Breakfast on Sunday, July 10, 7:00-9:00 a.m.  If you plan on attending,  please fill out the bottom half of the form and mail it to Tim along with your check for breakfast (and if appropriate your dues for 2016, the last year for which we will be collecting yearly dues).     For international members, if you are planning on attending the breakfast and meeting, and would prefer make payment at the breakfast itself, please indicate on the form that you will pay Tim at the breakfast.     You can either send him your form through the postal service or through scan and email.   Tim would like to receive the form by May 31, so that we have a count for the caterer.



Details about RHF Meetings at  ILA:

Breakfast:  Induction of elected members (Jan Dole, Charles Hulme, Gay Ivey, Marjorie Lipson, Michael McKenna, Brian Street; also, Dale Johnson, Mary Ann Maning, Jennifer Monaghan, Robert Wilson ); special tributes to Alan Farstrup and Arthur Applebee.   We will hold our annual business meeting after the breakfast and  induction ceremony.    Time and Location:  Sunday, July 10, 7:00-9:00 a.m. , Convention Center Room 102.

Reading Hall of Fame Presentations.   Each year, elected members of the RHF make presentations in which they discuss highlights of their work.  This year, six of our recently elected members will be presenting:  Octavio Henao Alvarez, James Baumann, Henrietta Dombey, Peter Freebody, Robert Jimenez, Jerry Johns.  The theme of the session is Literacy Research and Its Influence on Teaching and Learning.      Time and Place:  Satruday, July 9, 2016, 4:00-5:30 p.m.,   Sheraton Republic B
