Dear RHF colleagues
Tim is raising a question that has been raised and discussed a few times
during my tenure in RHF. And Ken and I believe that such a discussion
should be brought to the membership. There has been interested in
combining the horary members with the reading pioneers into one group a
number of times. There usually is agreement that the current live member
list needs to be listed separately so we know who are current living
members.
This is a proposal that needs to be written and presented to the membership
through our president who is planning the next meeting. We could just have
two categories. Current members (live) and deceased members. As a number
of past presidents and secretaries will remember, when we do not keep lists
and records carefully we get into problems when we announce people who are
living as not and vice versa.
This is another issue that RHF members might consider and weigh in on in
the next months. WeI will check the bylaws to see what is documented about
membership categories in the bylaws to see what needs to be changed in the
bylaws as we discuss possible membership category changes.
Any of our members who have worked on bylaws who have thoughts about this,
please comment.
