OVERVIEW: The Center for Latino Achievement and Success in Education
(CLASE) is a research and development Center in the College of Education
with a mission to improve education in reducing group-based disparities.
This faculty position has been created to expand the center's capacity to
achieve its mission through developing successful grant proposals.  The
individual will report to the executive director and support the mission of
CLASE. Research experience and evidence of success in attracting funding,
grant development, and related skills are required. This academic year
position will have 100% budgeted time for research. Summer funding will be
dependent on available funding . Tie-ins with academic
collaborators/programs aligned with the mission may be possible.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Ph.D. in education or psychology or related area with
knowledge of mixed methods research design; area of specialization is
open.  The candidate should have a strong interest and experience in
working the center’s educational Latino mission. History of active
research, grant writing in education is essential. Desired experiences
include; bilingualism, advanced quantitative expertise,, evidence of
scholarly productivity and success in securing research funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:  The individual will engage in grant writing, project
coordination, design, dissemination activities, and help write and publish
policy briefs and other projects with the Center’s Executive Director.
Responsibilities may also include implementing projects in the community
and schools, creating a policy voice through web, publications,
conferences, and other means.
