[Reading-hall-of-fame] Re: Dick and Jane

Actually in the 70's, the nature of the basal changed again when Ken's
Reading Unlimited series came out, and Scott Foresman announced "Dick and
Jane Are Dead." The first pre-primer in the Reading Unlimited series was
priceless - "The Bus Ride." I was the reading supervisor in Newark DE at
the time and we adopted the Unlimited series. Across the street at the
University of Delaware, a young doctoral student was beginning his studies
- Tim Shanahan. A little irrelevant history
