[Reading-hall-of-fame] What the hell is oging on at IRA

Did youknow:
The ira journals are being offred for sale to publishers
A for sale sign was put up at iRA headquarters
The new bylaws, which were never approved by the membership, now give 
the board the right to amend the bylaws by a vote of the board
A proposal was made to add three non-electd non-members to the board
There is is a move to make the actng exec director permanent witrhout a 
search.
Ira is not in bad straits financially .
     It has many funds which are sitting unused
     It owns its buildings and property outright
     Why would it be sold at the bottom of the real estate market?
IRA is being advised by a prof at U of ADelaware who is a specialist in 
managment of ngo's (not for profit fund organizations).

What can we do.
Foilow Jack Cassidy's's example and go to the board neeting prior to the 
conference
Attend the membership meeting and ask these quesitions.
Talk to (call write email0 the board members and officers)

Let's at least qall turn out for the annual meeting at ira.
