[Reading-hall-of-fame] no child left behind

The new chief school officer under the Obama administration is Arne Duncan,
formerly the head of the Chicago Public Schools. In an earlier message I
presented my opinion as to why teachers dislike the No Child Left Behind
law. One may question the law for its use of AYP and the goal of 100%
proficiency of all categories of students by the year 2014. There may be
some changes under the new administration such as abandoning AYP in favor of
a growth model. But, it would worth your time to get on to Google and learn
more about where this administration is going in education and the NCLB law.
What you learn could be upsetting.
