HI All,
Many thanks to the 25 who have sent in responses to the Advocacy
Committee Questionnaire. We are tallying responses tomorrow and
beginning to synthesize/group members' ideas over the weekend. If
you still have this on your 'To Do List,' please respond by Thursday,
April 17th. I'm embedding the five questions below for your
convenience. If you need the original which had the cover letter
explaining the reason for the committee and its history, just email
and I"ll send along the attachment.
Thank you again for your time and see you soon! TER
Questionnaire
1. Should the Reading Hall of Fame strengthen its commitment to advocacy?
o No. The current by-law statement and the current
level of activity of the Hall of Fame is appropriate.
o No. No change in the by-laws is necessary, but we
should increase our activity to reflect a commitment to advocacy.
o Yes. We need to expand our level of advocacy and
take on roles and activities that can influence the formation of
reading policy and practices.
2. If we do increase our engagement in advocacy, what kinds of
issues are appropriate to this organization at this time?
3. What kind of format(s) would be appropriate (e.g., 'a' stand?
Always multiple perspectives?)
4. What might we do and how might we do it (e.g., what kind of
ongoing activities would be relevant)?
5. What would be the criteria for identifying an activity as a
Hall of Fame event/topic?
