Nottingham, NG7 2RD ** Our official meet up point will be in the senate space within Trent Building; groups will then be divided into 3 breakout rooms: C5, LG6 and B4. Wilton Park Ambassadors and current students will be hovering around to help direct you if you are lost! Wilton Park convenes policy-makers and experts from a wide range of backgrounds to find solutions to pressing global problems. In 2025-6, they hosted 3,200 participants from 151 countries (more information here). Through the WPYAN, we have learned the role of open, inclusive, policy-focused dialogue and its impact in addressing key global issues. This Wilton Park-style dialogue aims to strengthen the University of Nottingham community's capacity to prevent, identify and respond to technology-facilitated gender-based violence involving the exploitation of women's images. Alongside this, we will bring together students, academics and staff to examine how AI and emerging technologies are enabling new forms of gender-based violence. It will move beyond awareness-raising to identify practical, community-driven measures that universities can take to prevent harm and support those affected. For more details, the concept note/provisional programme can be found here This dialogue will bring together approximately 50 participants. It will consist of a mixture of panel/plenary discussions and breakout groups, with three invited speakers including Andleeb (MA in AI), James (assistant professor in Criminology) and Katy (assistant professor in Criminology with published works on tech-based gender violence). As with all Wilton Park policy dialogues, the roundtable and subsequent workshops will be highly participative, where everyone will be expected to share their experiences/insights on the topics discussed. The discussions are strictly non-attributable. For more information, please see Wilton Park's Discussion protocol. Next steps If interested in participating, please kindly confirm your attendance by October 29th by replying to this email. If unavailable, we would welcome nominations of other colleagues from your cohort. We kindly welcome you to pass this invite to colleagues in your or other departments, asking them to contact us to register their attendance. We very much hope that you will be able to join us and contribute your expertise to the discussions. We look forward to hearing from you soon. In-person:Wednesday, 3 March 2027 in Amsterdam. Time: 9:30- 17:00. AIOLIA training materials help organize courses, lessons, and professional training sessions in AI ethics for students, researchers, REC members, or policy-makers. These materials support the different stages of the AIOLIA Ethics Workflow, which allows trainees to understand the ethical context of a project or a use case, identify relevant ethical issues, select and prioritize practical measures, and identify ethics tensions. We will showcase AIOLIA training materials at a Train-the-Trainer event in an interactive way. As a future trainer, you are expected to master the basics of AI ethics before joining this session. During the event, you will get acquainted with the AIOLIA workflow, theory modules, and practical exercise via a Learning-by-Doing approach. You will then be able to design your own trainings using AIOLIA materials for different target audiences. For info and registration, please see: Train-the-trainer workshops ? Ten years ago, we asked what it would take for the UK to build technology that?s a force for good. Since then, the principles, frameworks and institutions we called for have become a reality, from the Ada Lovelace Institute to the AI Security Institute and the new AI Assurance Stakeholder Consortium. This year, we look at how far we?ve come and where we go from here. This year we?ll explore: * Fit for purpose? Whether today?s institutions and governance structures are up to the job, and what gaps remain as some bodies fall away * Risk Mitigation and Security: The role of our evolving AI Assurance ecosystem and the unique position the UK finds itself in leading on trust and security. * Political Will and Human Infrastructure: Do we have the people, the political will and the shared purpose to make responsible AI work on the ground? * The new questions: Agentic AI, and convergence, the push to scale adoption, the role of public movements and reimagining futures in building the future we need. * Next steps: How do we want to use the next year to keep momentum, where do we need to focus our resources? Be part of the celebration and conversation that shapes the next decade, alongside the practitioners, policymakers, technologists and thinkers leading responsible innovation in the UK. Places are limited, so click the button below to book your ticket now. We hope to see you there!
