Salary: £27,183 (pro-rata)
This post is to work on a University of Southampton funded project that involves case-study research in four secondary schools which have adopted innovative curriculum designs requiring high levels of teacher collaboration within inter-disciplinary teams of subject specialists. The research focuses on the pedagogical, management and leadership implications of implementing such innovative curricula.
As an experienced researcher in education, or another social science discipline, you will draw on a range of skills including those related to qualitative data analysis. You will be expected to plan and manage your work-load and be able to work effectively as part of the research team. You will also contribute towards the administration of the project and be involved in dissemination of the project findings through drafting papers and presenting results at conferences. The ability to command the confidence of a range of participants working in the case-study schools will be essential.
The post will be on a fixed-term basis for 14 months from 1st June 2009. Work will be based in the University of Southampton School of Education. Travel, and temporary stays away from home, to undertake fieldwork will be required.
