The Institute of Education is a world-leading centre for education research
and teacher development, located at the heart of one of the worlds most
vibrant cities. We work with some of the most diverse and exciting schools
in the world in our programmes of teacher education and education research.
We are seeking to strengthen our mathematics education teams following a
review of staffing and we have a vacancy for one outstanding teacher or
teacher educator to join us from October 2008, or as soon as possible
thereafter.
You will be required to have a first degree in mathematics plus a higher
degree, and preferably a completed doctorate, in an area relevant to
mathematics education. You will have Qualified Teacher Status and the
ability to teach successfully at higher education level, a good knowledge of
a wide range of learning and teaching approaches suited to the learning
needs of postgraduate students and evidence of curriculum planning and
development in mathematics education. You will also have a strong track
record of funded research and academic publications.
Any offer of appointment will be conditional on a satisfactory Criminal
Records Bureau Disclosure.
