School of Education, Public Policy and Civic Engagement
Assistant or Associate Professor Position in Mathematics Education
Tenured/ Tenure Track
We invite applications for a tenure or tenure-track position in
Mathematics Education at the Assistant or Associate level beginning
Fall 2009. Candidates must have a doctorate in mathematics education
or a related field (ABDs near completion will be considered), as well
as demonstrated evidence of excellence in research and teaching
commensurate to the applicant’s level of entry. Teaching experience at
grades K-12 or with diverse student populations is desirable. The
position involves engaging in an active program of research, teaching
at the undergraduate and graduate levels, providing service to the
university, public and profession, and developing partnerships in
mathematics education across university departments and with area
schools. The successful candidate will join an active research group
at the James J. Kaput Center for Research and Innovation in
Mathematics Education (www.kaputcenter.umassd.edu/) and will be a key
academic partner in the implementation of a doctoral program in
mathematics education.
