Brousseau’s Theory of Didactical Situations in Mathematics
Professor Rosamund Sutherland
University of Bristol
Monday 2nd July 2007
2.30 - 4.00 pm
Abstract:
Within this presentation I will discuss key ideas in Brousseau’s
theory of Didactique des Mathématiques. Through focusing on concepts
such as didactical contract, adidactical situation and
epistemological obstacle I shall consider how these concepts hang
together in a theoretical whole. I shall also open up discussion of
how particular aspects of the theory seem to be different from
other theoretical approaches used within mathematics education
research.
Venue:
Room G8, Franklin Wilkins Building Annex, Waterloo Road.
The entrance to the School of Education is on Waterloo Road, just off
Waterloo Bridge.
A map of the locality is available at:

All are welcome. RSVP
