Researching Effective CPD in Mathematics Education (RECME) Project

Salary up to £33,000 (pro-rata)
Established in 2006, the National Centre for Excellence in Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) exists to drive the professional development of mathematics teachers nationwide, not only improving their skills but also supporting and enhancing their passion for the subject. The NCETM has commissioned a research project to investigate the interrelated factors that contribute to 'effective' continuing professional development for teachers of mathematics. The project will involve working with a set of existing professional development initiatives across England. Your role will be to work within the team that is implementing the Researching Effective CPD in Mathematics Education (RECME) project.
You will have some experience of mathematics education research and will be committed to the development of effective continuing professional development for teachers of mathematics.
We are seeking to appoint two full-time research associates and one part-time associate, funded in the first instance until 31st March 2009.
The closing date for applications is 14 September 2007. It is expected that interviews will be held in the week commencing 17 September 2007.
