Colleagues may know that the EPPI-Centre, following an earlier call for
suggestions, has some 57 topics for consideration for funding of systematic
reviews of research. The list includes nine suggestions for "curriculum
focus" research reviews, one being Mathematics.
The EPPI-Centre are now asking for suggestions for how they should
prioritise the topics. Responses are to be used to "help set the research
agenda and the next call for applications for EPPI-Centre Review Groups".
http://eppi.ioe.ac.uk/education.htm
They are asking for responses by Friday 26 April 2002 in order that the
call for Review Groups can be publicised on 30 April 2002.
If you would like to respond (by indicating the five topics from the list
which you consider most important), full details of how to do so are below.
best wishes

Topics for systematic reviews of research
Following an earlier call for suggestions for topics for systematic reviews
of research, the EPPI-Centre is now prioritizing these topics. The call for
suggestions was advertised on at least 15 WWW sites. We had responses from
individuals and organizations. We received suggestions for 57 new topics.
In addition, we received responses in support of Review Groups that are
currently being funded, and support for topics that fall within or across
current Review Groups. We shall discuss these latter suggestions with
established Review Groups.
People with an interest in education are now invited to state how they
would prioritise the suggested new topics listed below. Responses will be
used to help set the research agenda and the next call for applications for
EPPI-Centre Review Groups (see http://eppi.ioe.ac.uk for details).
Responses are requested by Friday 26 April in order that the call for
Review Groups can be publicized on 30 April 2002.
