Dear Colleagues,
You may already have received information about the conference our project
is organising next year in Sicily. Here is a short notice about it, please
email me for further details:
We have just completed our fourth very successful international meeting in
Palm Cove, Australia, following those in Egypt 1999, Jordan 2000 and Poland
2001. These were organized by the Mathematics Education into the 21st
Century Project, a non-commercial educational project dedicated to
innovation in mathematics education throughout the world. We are now
planning the next international conference on "The Humanistic Renaissance in
Mathematics Education", to be held in Sicily, Italy from September 20-25,
2002. Our major sponsors will be Casio & Autograph.
I hope you will be interested in attending, it promises to be an important
and enjoyable event, especially as we will be starting to implement a new
global initiative, Super-Course, which will produce innovative ideas and
materials for the teaching and learning of mathematics in many countries
throughout the world.
Below is a short announcement about the conference. We would be most
grateful if you could place this in any journal/newsletter or mathematics
education list or bulletin board you have contacts with.

Sicily 2002 will also be an important planning meeting for our new global

Thank you in advance if you can do anything to publicize our conference
locally or through journals, newsletters or email lists.
Best wishes
