Colleagues,
I have just returned from the cerme2 conference (2nd conference of the
Eurpoean Society for Research in Mathematics Education) at Marianske Lasne in
the Czech Republic). Despite the snow, which caused the closure of Prague
airport immediately prior to the conference, over 100 delegates made the trip
and participated in a stimulating and enjoyable conference held at a
breathtaking venue. At the elections, which took place at the end of the
conference, Graham Littler from the university of Derby, was elected to the
board of the society. He is the sole UK representative. He will have a key
role to play in the organisation of the next conference, which is planned for
NE Italy in just over 2 year's time. Papers discussed at cerme2 can be
downloaded from the website at
http://www.pedf.cuni.cz/k_mdm/vedcin/cerme2frm.htm, though these will be
edited further as result of discussions at the conference. The proceeedings
will then be published.
