STUDENTSHIP PROGRAMME AT THE ISAAC NEWTON GROUP OF TELESCOPES

We welcome applications for four places on the ING studentship programme 2026/27.

The deadline for applications is:

The programme provides a unique opportunity for PhD or MSc astronomy students to get hands-on experience of work at an international observatory. Successful applicants will spend one year on La Palma, participating in survey observations with the WEAVE multi-object spectrograph on the 4.2-m William Herschel Telescope, and having the opportunity to work on projects supervised by ING staff. The studentship programme is open to anyone, but we particularly welcome applicants from our three partner countries: the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.

We would be grateful if you would draw the attention of suitable candidates to this opportunity.
