[Astro] VR Lab Visit - Wednesday 9th July 1pm

Good morning,

I am going to the VR Lab in Engineering tomorrow in order to try out a couple of pieces of software on quantum physics and astronomy. If anyone wants to join, I will be leaving the CAPT foyer at 12:50pm. Let me know if you want to come and I’ll add you to the calendar invite so we have an idea of numbers.

There is a functionality to create a virtual gallery to show off your astronomical images, and the JWST app is incredible. You can also watch the Apollo landings and explore Mars. The VR lead Chris Booker will be there and he is well worth speaking to if you are interested in using the suite for outreach, teaching or conferences. Chemistry, for example, are developing a health and safety training programme for their new undergraduates, combining chemicals to understand what might happen if correct H&S protocols are not followed (i.e. a big boom).
