[Astro] [CAPT] Interested in Being the New CAPT Postgraduate Rep?

Hi all,

As I approach the final few months of my PhD, it's time for me to relinquish my role as Postgraduate Representative for CAPT. This means there's an exciting opportunity for someone to take over the position!

This role is perfect for someone in their 1st or 2nd year (I took it on not long after starting, so don’t let being a 1st-year put you off), but 3rd-year students are also welcome to apply if they’re interested in holding the position for the year.

The role is enjoyable, impactful, and looks great on a CV while requiring relatively little time or effort. You’ll work with a PG rep from the main building and SPMIC, alongside collaborating regularly with the postdoc social committee.

In short, your responsibilities include:

Representing postgraduate research students at quarterly PG committee meetings.
  *
Contributing to socials and events that strengthen the community.
  *
Acting as a voice for PG students on any other relevant matters.

During my time as PG Rep, we’ve achieved a lot and organised some fantastic events—from the usual board game and pizza nights, to larger events such as the PG/postdoc internal conferences and the big summer quiz.
